In a statement signed by its President General, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, the AYCF lamented the rising insecurity in the country, noting that such attacks are not only a violation of human rights but also a grim reminder of the nation’s growing security challenges.

“The perpetrators of these heinous acts must be brought to justice. It is imperative that the government takes immediate and decisive action to prevent further bloodshed,” the statement read.

The group expressed deep sympathy for the families of the victims and the affected communities, acknowledging the immense pain and trauma caused by the attack. AYCF stressed the need for comprehensive security reforms to curb the incessant violence across the country.

Beyond condemning the attacks, AYCF also demanded adequate compensation for the victims’ families. The organization called on the government to establish a dedicated fund to support survivors, including provisions for medical aid, psychological support, and financial assistance to help those affected rebuild their lives.

“The loss of life, property, and livelihood cannot be fully compensated, but financial support is crucial for the victims to regain stability,” the group stated.

Reiterating its call for justice and accountability, AYCF urged the authorities to prioritize the safety and dignity of every Nigerian citizen, ensuring that such tragic incidents do not recur.

The organization also extended its condolences to the Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, and the entire people of the state, mourning what it described as another senseless bloodshed.

A Delta State youth leader has commended the Bayelsa State High Court for stopping a planned pro-Wike rally, citing concerns over potential violence and destabilization in the region. Comrade Gbenga Fajoye, Chairman of the Association of Unemployed Youths of Nigeria (UYAN) in Delta State, praised the court’s decision, saying it served the interests of the people, not powerful individuals.

The rally, organized by groups supporting Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Barr Nyesom Wike, sparked controversy and opposition from the Ijaw ethnic nationality and other concerned groups. Arewa Youths Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL) has condemned recent attempts to tarnish the image of the Honorable Minister of Defence, Abubakar Badaru, describing them as politically motivated attacks aimed at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The group warned that such smear campaigns would not be tolerated.

In a statement issued by the Speaker of the Assembly, Comrade Abdul Danbature, AYAGL asserted that these unfounded allegations seek to undermine the integrity of a leader who has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication to his duties and the well-being of Nigerians.

“His leadership at the Ministry of Defence has been characterized by professionalism, transparency, and a clear vision for enhancing national security,” the statement read.

The group highlighted that Minister Badaru has remained committed to tackling the nation’s security challenges, strengthening the military, and ensuring that Nigeria’s armed forces are better equipped to confront evolving threats. His leadership has played a pivotal role in maintaining the Nigerian military as one of the most formidable forces in the region.

One of his major achievements, the group stated, is the successful implementation of strategic initiatives to modernize military infrastructure.

Instead of focusing on the positive outcomes and the progress achieved, these groups choose to engage in disinformation and personal attacks. Their actions serve no purpose other than to destabilize the important work that Minister Badaru is undertaking on behalf of the Nigerian people.”

The statement further accused those behind the attacks of having ulterior political or personal motives, warning that such campaigns only serve to divide the nation and distract from crucial security efforts.

“We firmly believe that these attacks are motivated by ulterior political or personal agendas. Such campaigns only seek to divide and distract the nation from the critical work of strengthening our security infrastructure. It is important to recognize that those behind these baseless allegations do not have the best interests of Nigeria at heart, as they undermine the ongoing efforts to ensure a safer and more secure environment for all Nigerians.”

The AYAGL urged Nigerians to disregard the negative narratives and instead rally behind Minister Badaru, recognizing his dedication to national security and stability.

“We, therefore, call on all well-meaning Nigerians to rise above the rhetoric and remain steadfast in support of Minister Abubakar Badaru. The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has insisted that the Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former governor Yahaya Bello, sponsored the recall process, using fake constituents against her.

The federal lawmaker wondered how a Senate President could go low to work with “one of the most EFCC wanted persons” against a distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic for selfish reason.

In a thank you statement to her constituents and Nigerians, who came out enmass to welcome her despite various intimidations on Tuesday, Senator Natasha, promised not to let them down.

On Tuesday, supporters from Kogi Central’s five local government areas gathered early in Ihima, Okehi LGA, to welcome the PDP lawmaker.

Natasha received a rousing welcome from supporters despite a government ban on rallies and processions.

The Senator, however, challenged former Kogi governor Yahaya Bello to tell the world where he manufactured the names of those fake constituents calling for recall.

According to her, all available evidences and facts point directly to Bello as the mastermind behind the recall move.

The Senator cited Bello’s past actions before and during the 2023 general elections when he was accused of orchestrating multiple attacks against her, then a candidate.

The statement described the recall attempt as a continuation of Bello’s political vendetta against the senator.

She said: “I will advise the former governor to rather focus on clearing his name over allegations of fraudulent diversion of N89.2 billion, instead of attempting to destabilize the mandate given to me by the people of Kogi Central.

“The former governor’s hands are already full with corruption allegations, yet he is still bent on frustrating the will of the people. His actions before and during the last general elections, where he sponsored numerous attacks against me, are well documented. This recall attempt is nothing but another ploy to undermine the people’s will,” the statement read.

She added: “It is now very clear to the whole world how popular I am in my constituency. The powers that be did try to suppress the will of the people but my people emphatically said no. No to injustice, no to operation of women, no to fake recall, no to Yahaya Bello and his allies.

“They (My people) came out enmass to resist government intimidations. We thank them for the massive show of love. We also thank our oppressors because their actions have now made them more unpopular while we gained more support.

“As more me, I will do more for my people. I will not betray them. I will continue to give my best and they should be rest assure of our best representation all the time,” the Senator said.

The controversy surrounding the academic credentials of Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has once again been put to rest following his emphatic rebuttal and the validation from his alma mater, Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma.

The Governor, while hosting the Executive Committee of the AAU Alumni Association Worldwide, reiterated that he completed his studies and graduated with a Second Class Upper degree (2:1) from the prestigious institution.

Reacting to the lingering controversy, Comrade Gbenga Fajoye, Chairman of the Unemployed Youths Association of Nigeria, ( UYAN), Delta State Chapter has come out strongly against those questioning the governor’s academic qualifications. Fajoye described the criticisms as a mere distraction aimed at derailing the Governor’s developmental agenda.

‘Critics Are Only Seeking Attention’

Fajoye, in a statement, lampooned the critics, asserting that their claims lack substance and are motivated by political vendettas rather than genuine concern for governance. He noted that Governor Oborevwori’s academic records have been validated time and again, yet some individuals persist in attempting to discredit him.

“These traducers are simply out to distract the governor from his primary assignment, which is delivering good governance to the people of Delta State,” Fajoye stated. “The Governor has shown competence and dedication to the people, which is more important than baseless allegations.”

He further commended the AAU Alumni Association for standing by the Governor throughout the court proceedings that followed the 2023 election, emphasizing that such support underscores the authenticity of Oborevwori’s academic background.

A Call for Developmental Focus

Rather than engaging in what he termed ‘political pettiness,’ Fajoye urged the Governor to remain steadfast in his commitment to the progress of Delta State. According to him, Governor Oborevwori’s “excessive local content” and grassroots appeal are assets that should be leveraged for the state’s development.

“The people of Delta State elected him because they believe in his vision, not because of unnecessary distractions like this,” he added. “We should focus on the ongoing projects and policies that will uplift the lives of our citizens.”

In his speech during the visit,the former lawmaker who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani narrated warned them against be deceived to dump APC for SDP.

According to him, how can Elrufai ,who didn’t help them during his 8 years in office as a Governor, do so now ,when his out of power and out of the ruling party.

While appealing to the Ward Exco members to remain in Party and work for Governor Uba Sani during the forthcoming 2027 general elections, he promise to help reach out to Uba Sani Governor to help execute meaningful projects at Ungwar Sarki Ward.

Though the members informed Shehu Sani about their resolve to dump the party over prolonged deprivation , after the meeting today they reversed decision to stay and support Governor Uba Sani.

The Ward Chairman Aliyu Ibrahim lamented, “We (Ungwar Sarki Ward) Exco were neglected for 8 years during the days of Elrufai as Governor. It was really that bad that ‘Not even a dime was given for all our support and loyalty to the party .’

“The people of Kaduna saw how Elrufai neglected us and opted for the likes of Muyiwa Adekeye and other persons outside the State, despite all we did for APC .

“This is part of reasons we come to visit and reassure you and the Governor about our resolve to remain in PC to ensure we work against Elrufai come 2027”.

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), a prominent voice representing the interests of the northern youth in Nigeria, has refuted statements made by Honourable Aminu Sani Jaji, saying the claims did not only lack credibility but also serve as a smokescreen for his questionable political dealings that have come to light.

A statement issued by the President General of the forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima averred that Honourable Jaji has attempted to position himself as a champion of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a proponent of unity within the party but viewed his actions as a calculated strategy to further his political ambitions, which have been marred by allegations of financial impropriety and deceit.

According to.the statement, “It is essential to highlight that Honourable Aminu Sani Jaji is widely recognized within political circles as a known political scammer. His most notorious venture, the organization known as “All For Baba,” was ostensibly established to galvanize support for President Muhammadu Buhari.

“However, it has become increasingly evident that this organization was merely a facade for a more sinister agenda—siphoning funds under the guise of political campaigning. Reports indicate that Jaji colluded with the former Director General of the State Security Services Bichi to misappropriate funds intended for legitimate political activities. This raises serious questions about his integrity and motives”.

Shettima queried, “how can a person who has engaged in such dubious practices claim to represent the interests of the people? The AYCF firmly believes that the people of Nigeria deserve leaders who are transparent and accountable, not those who exploit their trust for personal gain”.

The forum said, they find it curious that Honourable Jaji choose to address the press in Kaduna rather than his home base of Gusau, stressing that his decision appears to be a deliberate attempt to create further divisions within the APC, rather than fostering unity.

It further averred that by opting for Kaduna, a city with its own political dynamics and tensions, Jaji seems to be more interested in stirring controversy than in promoting cohesion within the party.

“The choice of location raises pertinent questions: Is Jaji attempting to manipulate the political landscape for his benefit? Does he seek to undermine the efforts of other party members who are genuinely committed to the APC’s success? The AYCF believes that such actions are counterproductive and detrimental to the collective goal of strengthening the party and serving the interests of the Nigerian people”.

The AYCF therefore urged the leadership of the APC to take a closer look at the actions of Honourable Jaji and called for accountability and integrity in political representation.

“The youth of Arewa and, indeed, all Nigerians deserve leaders who prioritize the welfare of the populace over personal ambition. It is time for the APC to distance itself from individuals who engage in deceitful practices and to reaffirm its commitment to transparency and good governance”.

The AYCF says it stands resolute in its condemnation of Honourable Jaji’s claims and actions and will continue to advocate for a political environment where integrity, accountability, and genuine service to the people are paramount, adding that the youth of Arewa are committed to holding leaders accountable and ensuring that those who seek to exploit our trust are brought to justice.
