Gorobi,Adamawa PDP HoR member says only Atiku can save Nigeria

….says his experience is what will liberate Nigerians

By Tom Garba,Yola

The member representing Guyuk/Shelleng federal constituency in the House of Representatives (HoR), Gibeon Goroki said his loyalty to Atiku Abubakar is none negotiable.

He said his belief in Atiku is because of his love and passion to save the country from total collapse.

According to him the near-total collapse of the country is only Atiku Abubakar has the requisite experience to salvage Nigeria from a comatose stage than any presidential aspirant in whichever political party.

Gibeon described Atiku, the presidential candidate of the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a unicorn whose winning chances are very high because is the masses’ candidate.

Goroki who is a strong supporter of Atiku has started campaigning for Atiku Abubakar in his constituency a big billboard in it the inscription there is written: “2023 Atiku only.”

He said the message on the billboard in his Guyuk hometown is a message to mean that the coming 2023 in Adamawa and elsewhere is duty bound to only support Atiku Abubakar, his political God Father.

The former Guyuk Local Government council Chairman while responding to questions with this medium said it’s unfortunate the All Progressives Congress, APC, the ruling party has performed below expectation to get the overwhelming support to win the 2023 presidential election.

According to him, it’s glaring that President Muhammadu Buhari’s policies and Modi’s Operandi is anti-people, scheming out things for himself and the cronies to benefit.

He recalled how insecurity has thrown out the country in a bad light in the eyes of the international community and failed promises building to the 2015 election are working against the ruling party.

Gibeon gave a current example of the bickering between ASUU and the Federal Government that cannot resolve over seven months of lingering strikes.

This unresolved strike by the ASUU Goroki said is inhumane and the lack of good standard of living as a result of the battered economy is something heavy on Nigerians who are unprepared, and untimely to face.

“Tell me with this excruciating pain Nigerians are going through how can this party win the election? The people of Nigeria are crying left, right and Centre. Anywhere you go it’s one complaint of the other that the harsh economy is biting hard on Nigerians.” Goroki said

Goroki while reiterating his loyalty to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is one of the reasons finds himself as a scapegoat, the sacrificial lamb meant to be slaughtered for the interest of many politicians in Adamawa state.

Despite his political heavy battles, is still a strong supporter of the former vice president and he can not change for a dime his love for Atiku and is seriously working hard to have him return as the President of Nigeria in 2023.

“I won’t negotiate my loyalty to former President Atiku with nothing else, I remain his, and I will ever be part of him because he is my political God Father.

“I have started a wide consultation in and outside Adamawa on the need for Atiku to take over the presidency come what may.” He added

Gebion who is a die-hard PDP Lawmaker said the party is regaining strength out of the in-house feuds of the party’s sons and daughters and is to the advantage of Atiku Abubakar

Islamic Clerics Call For NSA, Service Chiefs’ Sack

…vow to mobilise against APC in next year’s general elections

…cry out over worsening insecurity in North

…insists President Buhari good leader

For the umpteenth time, some Islamic Clerics have called for the immediate sack, and subsequent replacement of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj-Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd), and all the Service Chiefs, saying their continuous stay not helping the security situation in the country.

The clerics, who operate under the canopy of Conference Of Concerned Islamic Clerics In Nigeria (CCICN), maintained that the NSA, as well as the military, and security heads, have reached their wits’ end, as far as the national security management is concerned.

Consequently, the clerics called on President Muhammadu Buhari to, as a matter of urgent national importance, emplace a new national security architecture.

This, they argued, will resolve the intricacies surrounding banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and other violent crimes assailing the Nigerian State.

In a statement signed by Shiekh Muhammadu Ibrahim Anka. and Mallam Usman Pategi, National Coordinator, and National Secretary respectively, (CCICN lamented the fact that the Northern region was at the worse-hit, hence their consistent position.

“The irreducible minimum we demand, in the face of worsening insecurity in the country, particularly the North, is the immediate and unconditional sack of the NSA, Maj-Gen. Babagana Monguno (retd), and all the Service Chiefs.

“Our insistence on the sack of the service Chiefs, and an emplacement of a new national security architecture, is borne out of the need to bring fresh perspectives to bear on security management.

“As Islamic Scholars, we cannot pretend to say that all is well, considering the level of insecurity in our region, occasioned by terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other violent tendencies”, the statement read in part..

To underscore their seriousness, the scholars threatened to mobilise against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the 2023 general elections, unless urgent steps were taken to rewrite the security situation in the country.

The statement reads in full: “We will not hesitate to mobilise our people against the APC in next year’s elections, if our dear President fails to appoint new set of service Chiefs, including a new NSA.

“Despite the deplorable state of security in the North and Nigeria some gullible Northern cleric and Emirs are said to be prevailing on the president not to hid to voice of the masses which are calling for the sack of the current crop of NSA and Service and replace them with more competent officers. “We call on Mr president not listened to this enemies of the country he should immediately Sack this out of ideas personnel without further delay.

“What’s is looking like a relative calm in the country today is not the absence of insecurity but a deliberate intimidation of the media and wasting task payers money to gag the some media houses .

“The reality on ground in the Nigeria is that, no part of Nigeria and especially the North is safe.

“We challenge anyone who is saying the North is now safe even any of the service chiefs to drive by road without any Escorts from Abuja to kano lets see.

“We are therefore categorically informing the president that if no practical action is taken to sincerely improve security in the North, We as The coalition of Islamic cleric mobilise people across the entire North to vote against APC and its candidates come 2023.

“We are doubly sure that they President is not getting sincere briefing from the NSA and his service chiefs that’s why we have come to Abuja for the second time within a month to meet with some key Government officials to let them know the true situation of things in the North as unbiased stakeholders who are only concerned about the welfare of our people.

“The North is almost lost to the bandits and there’s every need to urgently reclaim it. We trust in the ability of the president to still redeem his name and administration before he leaves in 2023.

“We therefore Join our voice with the several concerned Nigeria, who have been calling for the sack of the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd), and all the service chiefs and replace them with competent professionals, who will do this work with zeal and accountability.

“We demand their immediate sack obviously this crop of service chiefs seems to have lost ideas on how to turn things around.”

Babura Gas Explosion: Community Leader Exonerates Customs, Blames Driver’s Negligence, Arrogance

The Chairman, Youth Action for Peace Development in Nigeria (YAPDIN), Alhaji Muhammadu Usman, has absolved men and officers of the Federal Operations Unit of the Joint Border Patrol Team (JBPT) Hilux 12 of the Nigeria Customs Service, Jigawa State axis of a false report that gunshots were the cause of the gas explosion in Babura community, Babura Local government area of the state.

His words; “there was no gunshot but a fallen gas cylinder exploded which sparked remaining cylinders inside the vehicle to exploded. The driver’s negligence and unprofessionalism were responsible for the explosion.

Alhaji Usman further explained that “there was a gas leakage among some of the gas cylinders this driver was conveying. Residents and passer-by were calling the driver’s attention in order to avert any form of fire outbreak but all efforts fell deaf to the driver’s ear.

“I’d earlier thought that the driver may be conscious of the fact that the vehicle pose danger if he had stopped at that spot and willing to push the vehicle to a more safer location or out of the crowded areas but only to saw the said driver jumped off the vehicle and run away.

“At first, one of the cylinders fell off and exploded while the vehicle continued in motion up till about 40 meters and diverted, enter the drainage along the road. At this stage, the vehicle entered dish which sparked the remaining gas cylinders inside the vehicle started exploding one after the other. The inferno would have been averted if the driver had been more professional.” Alhaji Usman clarified.

He said reports by social media commentators that the explosion were caused by shooting by operatives of JBPT Hilux 12 was baseless and misleading adding that reports that many lives were lost in the inferno was another falsehood, “some shops were touched by the fire.

Maisamari Confirmed As SOKAPU President, Outlines Plans For SK

Mr Dio Awemi Maisamari, was confirmed as the new substantive President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) on Saturday, 10th September, 2022 in Kaduna.

His confirmation took palace during the Second National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of SOKAPU under the present national Exco. The brief ceremony was conducted by the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of SOKAPU, Elder Stephen Bangoji with some members of the Board in attendance.

A unanimous decision of the the NEC, with no single opposition, confirmed Maisamari’s substantive position. This is coming after his immediate predecessor, Hon. Jonathan Asake resigned to contest for the Governorship of Kaduna State under the Labour Party (LP).

The NEC of SOKAPU is made up of its  Central Executive Committee (CEC), Chairman and Secretaries of all State Chapters and local branches. It also includes the Women, Youths and Students wings and all past Presidents of SOKAPU. The new President of SOKAPU in his acceptance address, thanked the NEC for his confirmation and promised to improve on the legacies left behind by past leaders. He said that he was already working on a one year roadmap for SOKAPU and called for inputs, suggestions and contributions.

During the meeting, he briefed the SOKAPU NEC about the achievements of the present National Exco under the leadership of Hon. Jonathan Asake. Among them were:

Fundraising, procurement and distribution of palliatives to distressed citizens of Kaduna State during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown.

Intensive media sensitization and campaign against the violence taking place against the natives of Southern Kaduna which has led to national and global awareness of the heinous crimes.

Movement of the SOKAPU National Secretariat to a more spacious, well furnished and equipped office in Kaduna. NEC was also informed that the design of permanent National Secretariat had been completed.

Establishment of Southern Kaduna Peoples Empowerment Foundation (SOKAPEF) with Apostle Emmanuel Kure as it’s BoT Chairman. As an incorporated body, SOKAPEF will do many things which SOKAPU was unable to do because of its registration status.

Fundraising and provision of humanitarian intervention to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in communities across Southern Kaduna from the inception of the current security challenges to date.

Setting up of a high powered Political Committee to brainstorm and chart the best political direction for Southern Kaduna.

Building on the efforts of past leaders to raise the standing, credibility and goodwill of SOKAPU as a major pressure group in Nigeria; among others. Also during the meeting, the SOKAPU Predident informed NEC that an Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be called in a month’s time during which the full financial report of SOKAPU will be submitted. Meanwhile the President gave some financial highlights on the total income and expenditure of SOKAPU from December, 2019 to date. He also briefed the meeting on the N120m donation in April, 2022 that came to SOKAPU from  Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Nyesom Wike. He clarified that under his predecessor, Hon. Asake, the procurement and distribution of food stuff and other basic necessities was done in Chikun, Kajuru, Kachia, Kaura,  Kauru, Zangon Kataf, Kachia. Also, other forms of humanitarian assistance were rendered where necessary. At the point of his resignation,  the former President left a balance of N60 million for the continuation of the humanitarian intervention. The above briefing stirred harsh comments by some members of the NEC. These were complaints of poor engagement with community development associations whose members are the target of the intervention, exclusion from decision making during the intervention implementation process and even the inability of some communities to get the relief materials.

In his reaction to the complaints, the President said all the points made had been noted and would be addressed in the next phase. He also reminded them that because of the enormity of the challenges, they should know that even several billions of Naira will not solve the problems. Meanwhile, he called on  the Southern Kaduna community wherever they are to continue to thank His Excellency, Governor Nyeson Wike for doing what the Federal and State governments refused to do.

In addition l, the new President assured the NEC of his determination to reposition SOKAPU to more effectively address the challenges confronting Southern Kaduna. He said the one year action plan will be unveiled during the AGM and intensive consultations  will be made to get inputs from far and wide. Finally, he appealed for support and cooperation from all and sundry.

NIWOSEC ED berates Festus Kayamo on civil servants sack threat…calls it backdoor Strategy

By Matthew Denis Abuja

The Executive Director of Nigerian Workforce Strategy and Enlightenment Centre (NIWOSEC), Dr. David Kayode Ehindero has lambasted the Minister of  State for Labour and Productivity, Festus Kayamo (SAN) over comment on civil servants sanction.

Recalled that the Minister during the 2022 Ministerial Service Award Programme for the labour sector in Abuja last week threatened that unproductive and incompetent civil servants will sanction henceforth.

The Minister had said ” with the performance management process put in place, it will sanction any worker discovered to be incompetent in the civil service. It will not be business as usual for unproductive civil servants.

Dr. Enhindero who is also the President of Nigeria Workers Group has taken a swift reaction to the Minister’s comment by saying ” I want to say categorically that the Federal Government should not use backdoor strategy to sanction or sack Nigerian workers because they haven’t come out with yardstick/ perimeters to measure unproductive of civil servants.

“Nigerian civil servants are ever ready to work but the Government has failed in using them to execute projects and carrying out assignments that they can do? The Government rather seeks the services of consultants and contractors to do workers job where they can siphons money.

” So the Government should come out with platforms they will use to measure the unproductivity of civil servants let us know. I hope the Minister is not trying to play to the contentious of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) who suggested to federal government to payoff civil servants who are 50years old and above?

The Executive Director stressed that should these ill-advised is considered by the federal government Nigerian workers will mobilize en mass to protest against it.

According to him it’s important that the government should appreciate and use workers thereby seeing them as assets to the nation.

He said ” The Government should introduce policies and strategies that these workers can key in for development not seeing workforce as liabilities. They should conduct training and retraining for the workers routinely because when you don’t channel these workers properly you will see them as liabilities.

” the Government should deploy the service of workers and properly appropriate funds for them who are ready to work not being underutilized.

On a related development, Dr. Ehindero stressed that the Governors Forum doesn’t have respect for the human resources in the country by calling the Federal Government to pay off workers above the age of 50years.

He said ” any nation that doesn’t have respect for human resources will end up being moribund. Human resources should be accorded with high esteem in the country.

“Governors Forum are seeing workers as liabilities and it’s bad because they are not properly utilized.
