Tahir in 2023: My thoughts, feelings, and views as Dougeri Govt House beckons

God’s willing this 2022 has put all politicians and concerned Adamawa people on the “on your marks, get set, ready go” of the journey that will certainly end them to running political race in the coming 2023 for the Dougeri Government House Yola. They are all hoping, anxiously dreaming of good leaders that will take charge of the State’s affairs.

For me I feel, see, and think many eminent sons and daughters of Adamawa are most qualified to lead the state out of the brook of galloping administration with nothing inclining to human-capital development.

In Adamawa state today, there has been a golden and silence achiever worthy of note. This Man in all strata of life have make a bench Mark name in oil and gas. Till he left Nigeria National petroleum corporations his name is still ringing bell as erudite professional Mechanical Engineer and a leader manager who served the multi national corporation with great impetus of practical achievements.

Engineer Tahir Hussaini Sulaiman has it all, to give it all to Adamawa people. Tahir, you are the point of my prayers, I will pray (wait) until my prayers are answered. We are in search of a Governor and now we find one in you. Your indelible records of great ideas while the group general manager, renewable Energy division of the NNPC where you served for twenty three years (September 1991-February 2015) even the blind can attest that you were a progressive Man.

Tahir, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) (1976-1977) in Mechanical Engineer (B.Eng, Mech), and a Fellow of FNSE, FNIMechE was a predestinated child of Destiny whose talent, gifts and passion to serve humanity is driving home right from his childhood when over three decades ago.

Sulaiman is a well experienced Man haven visited Countries like USA, UK, Italy, Germany, France, Holland,
China, Japan, Singapore, S/Korea, Brazil
Cameroon, Ethiopia, Angola, South Africa, Dubai, Qatar, Saudi Arabia development himself on leadership courses around the world. This is to say he is a no doubt a Man well fit, most qualified and has all what it takes to serve the people of Adamawa as their next coming Governor.

Called him a philanthropist and a humanitarian who is living because he want to touch life for God’s purpose. A close looking at Hussaini Tahir’s perception of politics and leadership roles in the service to humanity.

The 2023 general elections is better to say that Adamawa will be saved if it is placed in the hands of people like Tahir. To be the executive Governor of the state in the interest of salvaging, liberating them from the crutches of underdevelopment.

Many have called him and gave him a platform in Action Alliance (AA) to run in defence of the people. They see him an emancipator of the masses. A fearless and focused leader who can dare the impossible to set the rescue agenda in motion for wealth creation, revamped health, massive employment through the introduction of jobs creation schemes, the State’s education will no doubt get a boost under the leadership style of Hussaini.

From 1978 to 1991 when the Military under the Ibrahim Badamasi Babaginda regime are in power, the name Hussaini rang bells in the defunct Gongola state (Taraba, Adamawa) when he was employed as Pupil Mechanical Engineer
and was deployed to State Central Mechanical Workshop in 1978. After probation period of one year.

His knowledge of knowing Adamawa is without shadows of doubts that he can transform the state to a haven of development . After his probation period, Hussaini was deployed to Jalingo Division as a Divisional Mechanical Engineer in 1979. He was responsible for the maintenance of all road construction and rehabilitation equipment. He continued in this capacity in various Divisions including Wukari, Ganye, and back to the Headquarters in 1981.

Between 1981-82 sent for In-service Training under the Sponsorship of the British Council to East Warwickshire College in the UK in the fields of Manufacturing Technology and Project Design where he obtained a Post Graduate Certificate.

Upon his return in 1982 he had a stint as Divisional Mechanical/Electrical Engineer for Yola Division for about a year. As a Professional Engineer was seconded to State College of Education Jalingo to set-up a Technical Education Faculty in 1983. This he accomplished successfully which earned him the enviable positions of Dean and Deputy Provost of the College in 1984-88 respectively.

The creation of Adamawa State In 1989 made Tahir to be deseconded to his State of origin where he was redeployed to take over from an expatriate as
Chairman and Chief Engineer of Task Force on Urban Infrastructure setup by the then military Governor. In 1990 he was redeployed to the Adamawa State Central Mechanical Workshop as the Manager a position he held until third quarter of 1991.

1991-2015 his journey in NNPC began, he was employed in September, 1991 as Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer and
was posted to KRPC in ETSD where he worked as a Technical Services and Projects Engineer.

Promoted to the rank of Chief Mechanical Engineer and also made the officer- incharge (O/C) of General Engineering and Project Management section in 1995, a position he held until 1998.

In December. 1998 he was transferred to NAPIMS Lagos as Deputy Manager Project Scoping in the Project Coordination Department in the Gas Division. In 2001, he was redeployed to the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) Division as Manager Materials & Common Services. Because of his past records and diligent service to NNPC he was again redeployed to PPMC on Duty Tour as Special Depot Manager to restore sanity in the depot and
ensure availability and efficient supply and distribution of petroleum products from 3rd October,2001 to 17TH January, 2003, where he served in Warri and Mosimi Depots respectively.

Back to NAPIMS and served as Manager Materials & Common services in PSC
Division. He was also the Venture Manager of Okwori and AKPO Field Development Projects under the NNPC/ADDAX and NNPC/TOTAL/SAPETRO/PETROBRAS
Production Sharing Contract Agreements respectively. He was transferred to NPDC Benin as Supply Chain Manager in July, 2007. He was transferred back to NAPIMS December, 2008 as Manager Materials Management Department.
Promoted as General Manager Materials Management Division NAPIMS July, 2009.

Promoted to the position of Group General Manager (GGM) Renewable Energy Division in November 2012. Retired in 2015 with achievements accredited to his of a great leader whose leadership strides traversed to all sectors of NNPP. The roles he played in defunct Gongola state, Adamawa state and NNPC are printed in the oceans not even the sands of times.

The Adamawa ideal Governor is now in active private businesses of Consultancy and Farming with a passion to philanthropic in many communities across Northern Nigeria.

The Name of Hussaini is ringing a louder bell now for his selfless service to Man Kind. Because of this Lamido of Adamawa has graciously honoured him with the Santuraki Adamawa Tittle, a title that is giving is a touch of a household name, a heavy-weight now luminary in the state political scene.

Since then I glued to this Man’s style of politics, his views, and his disposition to leadership roles conform to the eternal standard, which stands as his golden rule of life success.

Tahir distinguishes and reserved himself to politics of ideology by maintaining a self-imposed principle of not joining the crowd, remaining a party Man in opposition for years that journeyed him to the present political status in his lifetime. He believe in the dream of greater Nigeria, this his dream is translating to having a dream of a greater Adamawa state. He holds a conviction that Nigeria will continues to take massive steps into globalization and auspiciously participate in the international arena of human development and economic growth, having the belief that it is a promising journey to emancipation but demands public responsibility, hard work, dedication to nation building, sympathy
to our regional and religious diversity and commitment to the continuity of our dear Nation.

A good leader who involves in making sound and sometimes difficult decisions, creating and articulating a clear vision, establishing achievable goals, and providing followers with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve those goals in his current position. This is the Tahir I see over the years with multiple records of done deals, records of achievements in all the political and public offices he occupied.

Sticking to his vision Hussaini has a transformational journey of his political life and briefly stayed in PDP, now has Action Alliance (AA) as the party that will path find and navigate the narrow paths of backwardness for the state.

The Distance of thousands of miles covered by this Man was a journey characterized by political turbulence, perseverance, patience, consistency, and hard work. The tenacity to hold on and the villain’s attitude to never give up on his conviction of “I can get there”, the fate to have gotten a path with certainty to take and lead him to his destiny was what must have taken him to where he is today.

This Adamawa-born level headed and down-to-earth, Man stands tall to do what’s right, planting his feet in the sands of time to be remembered for shaping the country for the better.

God’s willing this 2023 has put all politicians and concerned Nigerians on the “on your marks, get set, ready go” of the journey that will certainly end running a political race in the coming 2023.

For Hussaini I see another good Man, I see another Nigerian who is without bias of all sort, I see another Nigerian who is a good politician whose experience was born out of many years of learning to ride the horse of glory, in Tahir I also see Adamawa becoming better, in him I see Nigeria is truly bearing the country of our Father’s land where unity, peace, development and justice shall reign.

I’m so privileged to have interacted with him on a few exceptional occasions, the rapt attention accorded me convinced me to see the humility in him as a good virtue of leadership, I see him with the listening ear syndrome. Tahir listens before he talks, he utters a few words and gives one the floor for conversations while he listens.

Tahir always fascinates me with his “Yes I will” response, and “no I will in the affirmation that always turns out to be his YES is YES, and his NO is NO. This is probably one of the politicians whose words are bankable and can be bought at a very high value of integrity and standard at whatever time. He does not mix his words to impress or to cajole a fellow human being. I see and learn what others will say about the “power of the dead and life is in the tongue.” It is in this Man I’m learning a man’s image is laying in the tiny mighty tongue under the roof of his mouth. Sir, I respect your good communication skills in you.

As the people of Adaamawa pray for the progress, growth, and unity of the nation counting down to the 2023 elections, I pray the Will of God prevails by giving us leaders after His own heart, leaders who possess the characters of heavenly mandate, people who desire to see Nigeria better than it is. People like Tahir whose love for humanity is a flame burning the inside of them to better the our dear state, Adamawa with their good leadership qualities.

For me I feel, see, and think Hussaini Tahir has it all, to give it all to all Nigerians, to the people of Adamawa state. He is the best, the preferred and the servant-leader that every person in Adamawa should support to lead the people in dare need of good leaders.

Sir, Tahir you are the point of my prayers, I will pray (wait) until my prayers are answered for the sake of our people in Adamawa state.

God bless Nigeria!
God bless Adamawa state!!

South East Professionals Attack Buhari’s Spokesman Over Profiling Of Igbo

…insist Adesina hates Ndigbo

…say latest statement constitute hate speech, incitement

…demand invitation by security operatives

…say criminal elements exist in all ethnic groups

…warn against attempts to undermine Igbo

Some professionals of Igbo extraction have come down hard on the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesiba, over recent disparaging comments about the South East, insisting that such amounted to profiling of an entire race known for peaceful coexistence and order.

According to the professionals, Adesina’s statement, which came less than forty eight hours after the signing of a peace pact by presidential candidates of the various political parties, constituted hate speech, hence must be viewed seriously.

Operating under the South-East Professional Network in Nigeria and Diaspora (CSEPNND), the patriots called on relevant security agencies to, without further ado, invite Adesiba for questioning, noting that his opinion, which enjoyed wide publicity, is inciting in form, and provocative in character.

In a scathing essay, Adesina had literally said that the glory had departed from Igbo land as, according to him, the South East zone is now bugged down by killings, and other tendencies that may be at variance with peace, and order.

In a post entitled, “I missed the South East we used to know”, Adesina had said, among others, that: “Each time I read of killings by gunmen in the South East, I go into the doldrums. I get mortified by the sheer waste of precious lives, the wantonness, malevolence and viciousness of it all. And I mean killings on both sides.

“The innocent law enforcement agents, mowed down in cold blood, and the misguided, brainwashed gunmen, who more often than not do not get away with their evil acts. MAD. Mutual Assured Destruction. That’s what usually happens.

“I then tell myself. This is not the South East we used to know. What happened? How did grace turn to disgrace? How did young men, who used to be moved, motivated by sonorous songs and choruses suddenly become bloodthirsty hounds, not distinguishing between friends and foes, good and evil?

“How do you claim you want to liberate a people, after first shooting them to ribbons? How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (Isaiah 14:12).

“The South East we used to know had Voice of the Cross. Oh, what a group of gospel singers! It had Sir Warrior, Oliver De Coque, Oriental Brothers, and many others.

“They would sing, and inspire you, and transport your mind to nobler things. Now, the soulful tunes have given way to the staccato sound of gunfire. What went wrong.

He continued: “The innocent law enforcement agents, mowed down in cold blood, and the misguided, brainwashed gunmen, who more often than not do not get away with their evil acts. MAD. Mutual Assured Destruction. That’s what usually happens.

“Let Reverend Sisters in the Convents, with their white attires sing those Igbo gospel songs, and nobody could convince you that they were not angels direct from above. Let the men, old, young, play the drums and other musical instruments, sing in baritone, and heaven would come down, and glory would fill your soul.

“Let a preacher from the region take the pulpit, and he intersperses his sermon with heavenly songs, which the congregation would respond rapturously to. That was the South East we knew, and not the current killing fields.”

Responding in a statement by its National Coordinator, Prof. Chika Madumere, the coalition condemned Adesina’s seeming hatred for Ndigbo, insisting that the senior journalist had shown consistency in his profiling of the Igbo race.

“The latest essay on the South East by Femi Adesiba, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Adviser on Media and Publicity, is a continuation of his campaign of hate against Igbo sons and daughters.

“We insist that his article entitled, “I missed the South East we used to know”, constitutes profiling of an entire race, whose people have an age-long tradition of love for neighbours, peaceful coexistence, progressivism, and egalitarianism.

“While condemning killings, in whatever form, we hasten to remind Adesina that criminality, and criminal elements exist among all ethnic groups, and regions in Nigeria”. It, therefore, betrays common sense, flies in the face of reason, for an Adesina to think that killings only occur in the South East region.

“Instructively, Adesina is notorious for holding extreme views about Ndigbo, and this development must stop henceforth, as we warn that no one has the monopoly of a vile tongue.

“It is regrettable that his acerbic attack on the entire Igbo race came few hours after distinguished Nigerians, including a former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Most Rev. Matthew Hassan Kukah, as well as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, had warned against hate speech, and incendiary comments during this period of electioneering.

“As a senior member of government, there are minimum standards, which are expected of Adesina, but we regret to note that he has failed the test, as seen in his distasteful essay.

“It is our view that, if allowed to stand, the aspersion on Ndigbo by Adesina has the potential of inciting ethnic conflagration, if not now, later.

“We state, and unequivocally too, that Adesina has breached extant laws, including the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), as well as the Electoral Act (2021).

“To arrest this, therefore, we demand the immediate arrest, and interrogation of this man by relevant security agencies, to serve as deterrence against abuse of privilege by persons entrusted with positions of responsibility”.

“With due respect, we submit that the failure of the administration Adesina serves under, is responsible for growing insecurity in the South East, and the rest of the country.

“May we further remind Adesina that Nigeria, today, has been designated as the second most-terrorised nation in the world.

“We conclude by stating that the Vice Presidential candidate of the APC, Kashim Shettina, was once Governor of Borno State, the epicentre of terrorism and insurgency”.

Speaking on this passion, Princess Ajisefinni revealed the foundation was birthed following a visit she made to Nigeria in 2008 after observing the agony school children encounter.

She said ” I noticed on a particular day, children leaving school for their various homes and saw that many of them were not adequately dressed and while some had schoolbags and others without bags. For a very long time, I complained about the way things were, I heard the stories and I complained and talked about how things should be.

“No matter how much I complained or lamented, I noticed that nothing changed and then it dawned on me that I, had to change. I had to stop complaining and do something. I had to bring that picture in my imagination to reality and that is what birthed the Taiwo Ajisefinni Foundation (TAF). TAF has been set up to give hope to children and adults alike.

According to her the desire for education is to ensure that every child has access to quality education. After a few years of thinking about the best way to start, the foundation was registered in June ,2017 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria. TAF is also registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

The Chief Visionary Officer emphasized that the foundation seeks to provide educational support in various ways to children, especially those from indigent and underprivileged backgrounds.

“Our target is to reachout to as many schools as possible in Nigeria, especially those in rural communities. In 2016, TAF sponsored 19 people with physical disabilities by paying their fees to attend vocational courses to become solution providers in society.

“Our first school project was executed at a Primary school in Offa local Government of Kwara State were over 80 students benefited from the services we provided. Interestingly, since the completion of the first stage of the project in this school, parents, and relatives of children in the community and surrounding villages, have shown interest in enrolling their children in the school. The Foundation is also in the process of donating Lawn Tennis equipment to a school of over 2000 students in Ikeja, Lagos State.

She decried that there has been no collaboration yet with the government. However they are working towards collaborating with similar NGOs so that they can get a lot projects done for children in education to actualize the target and vision of the foundation.

” The plan towards collaborating with the government is in the pipeline as it is a means of delivering better results for all involved.

“Education is first and foremost not just the impartation of knowledge but also the assimilation of what is being taught and of life’s experiences. Quality education is therefore about the teacher and the taught: the student. Education is and always will be very important in building a strong foundation in one’s life. It is important that our children are educated, are up to date with current issues, and can provide knowledge to the next generation. Education is a strong building block in building a stronger and healthier community. As a community, it is our obligation to help a child develop their identity and be a contributing factor to society. We must refocus on the idea that a child is the centre of our community.

“The focus of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 is on ensuring that children have access to quality education and that the number of children that are out of school is reduced.

“With the number of out of school children announced by the federal government, evidence is showing that it has further recorded an impressive enrolment of school children in the last year. Therefore, more intervention from the government in synergy with Those, and like-minded individuals, there is bound to be more significant progress in the standard of education and learning outcomes.

“We plan to go anywhere we are needed, all over Nigeria. We are working on getting as many people as possible on board to be a support system and network for the NGO. Together, we will be able to do more. Our goal is to have stationed in every State, Taiwo Ajisefinni Foundation volunteer teams. They will be responsible for locating the communities and schools where support is needed and then go on to oversee the execution of all that is needed.

The philanthropist stressed that the Foundation seeks to provide wholesome support to schools.

‘We aim to support everyone in the education chain – teachers and students alike. As we provide conducive learning atmospheres for the students, we will also ensure that the teachers have everything they need to provide quality education – training and teaching aids and ultimately achieve all learning outcomes. Our focus will be on ensuring that school children get a good education by making sure that the atmosphere is conducive to learning.
Together, we can give hope, support, educate and make a difference in the lives of school children one school at a time.
